Thursday June 19, 2003
Those fortunate to be in Jerusalem at this time can experience
'Chuzot Ha-Ir' an outdoor festival in Jerusalem's popular Ben Yehudah district off of Jaffa Street and King George Street. The first week of the month-long festival, which began June 18th, will feature different restaurants and cuisines throughout the city of Jerusalem. Ben Yehudah was decorated with chinese lanterns, starbursts and vendors selling cheeses, wines, cakes, ravioli, beef, exotic fruits and other Israeli specialities. . There were various musicians including a 25 foot Elvis puppet playing and dancing to songs by 'The King'. A fabulous firework display topped off the evening with everyone feeling warm and happy about the start of the summer season.
